According to theuniversity’s arrangements, the College of Communication Engineering of Jilin University held thespecialactivity “cyber security class participated by both teachers and postgraduates” online from 5 September to 12 September, so as tothoroughlystudy and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts onboosting China’s strengthincyberspace.

Students first watched the cyber securitylecture, which introduced the common types of online fraudrangingfrom telecom fraud,andfake shopping fraudtoimpersonation of acquaintance fraud. Students have learned how toavoid scams, and how to build a “security barrier” to defend against these frauds. In the discussion,the studentsactively participated,shared their views on cyber security, andbroughtup many tips to identify internet information. The discussionmotivatedstudents’enthusiasm in communication,broughtstudentscloser to each other, and refreshed students’ understanding ofcybersecurity.

The activity is conducive for students to further understand and learncybersecurity knowledge, enhancetheircybersecurity awareness, and preventonlinefraud. Ithasalso improvedstudents’ability to recognize,avoid, and fight against fraud.
